I only use the CQ18t on my home studio, and lately it’s randomly making loud popping noises, I look at the screen it’s flashing.. the input meters are all way up, it lasts for a few seconds and then continues working as normal, sometimes for hours without issues.. It doesn’t reset… Can it be a faulty power supply issue?
I’ve plugged the power supply to a computer autotransformer but it didn’t solve the issue.
I wasn’t lucky enough to record this happening on video but I will try to and post here.
You need to contact Allen and Heath.
Is it connected to a computer via USB? If so, start the CQ-18T before the computer.
Is this a PC that is sending to speakers? Check the event logs for devices and apps.
Just the CQ-18T alone? Turn the CQ completely off and restart it. Connect it to speakers with nothing else connected to it. Don’t load a saved setting and let it sit. Pops? If so, might be an issue specific to the CQ. If it happens with one saved scene and not another, track down external hardware paths. If nothing is connected, enable one setting at a time. That could help track things down.
