Cq20b Usb audio stopped working mid gig

5 pc band, drums keys bass song x1 and guit. All using inputs with some (keys, synth bass) set to Usb in via usb C to B connection. Using all output for IEM mix, 6 devices connected via WiFi.

Halfway through the gig, thankfully in the break, the usb stopped working so the cq didn’t show up as an output device on the M1 in logic / mainstage. I run all keys + click though the usb (3 channels) using the mixer as the audio interface effectively. Gives some nice possibilities e.g. ducking pads from kick drum via side chain.

I ended up spending 15 mins of set 2 ruling out everything else and eventually power cycled the mixer. after this cq20b showed up fine. I tried everything else including disconnecting/ reconnecting usb to no avail.

Any idea what would cause this and how to prevent it going forward?

Can I provide some more data to help troubleshoot this? I can see another thread where switching sample rate seemed to have helped the issue.

The in/out channels in the mixer were still working, the issue was localized to the USB input.

We rehearse with same setup as the gig without issues, so it’s intermittent. But if there’s any mitigation this would be good. For example - can something like fan flow being slightly restricted cause issues? The bass board was pretty close to the fan - but not blocking it.

The combination of certain carpet and shoe sole materials shown in the image could cause electrostatic charges, the discharge of which could unfavorably disrupt a digital device.
Have any of you feeled something like this?
