Custom fader layer

Hi there,

Does anyone know if it’s possible to assign the same mic input to multiple faders on the same fader layer?

I.e. Mic in 1 appears on faders 1 and fader 11, mic in 2 appears on fader 2 and fader 12 and so on.

Thanks in advance.

Yes, all layers are completely custom on the GLD.

A&H has a default arrangement upon start-up where bank A, layers 1-4 are mapped to channels 1-48. This arrangement can be changed in the setup menu under “control.”

Theoretically, you could populate every fader on every layer with Ch 1, if you so desire. In light of this, what you described is easy to accomplish on the GLD.

Would you then be able to route each fader differently and provide independent mixes? Or would changes made to fader 1 affect all faders assigned to that input?

You can do both! Each input can be mapped to multiple channels and each Channel can be mapped to multiple fader positions.

All the faders mapped to a single channel are essentially the same fader, so if you raise one they all raise, and similarly with all the processing on that Channel. But the separate channels operate completely independently. You can have different fader settings and different EQ, comp, routing etc. for each of the channels mapped to the same input. The only restriction is that there is only a common preamp gain, although you can use trim to effectively give you different offsets from that.

It’s very flexible.

the DSP channels are different than the input sockets
you can use 48 DSP channels with free patchable hardware inputs
