D-Live features suggestions

Hi developpers,

here is a list of ideas I made these last couple of year. I removed a bunch of features that appeared in the updates over this time… thank a lot for your Wonderfull work it’s such a pleasure to work with the Dlive desks. sound and soft is really good !
Here is just some ideas from an humble sound engineer.
Sorry if some features are redundant with other topics or already there in lasts firmwares.

  • Time Code

    • I reacted to a post about that. This would be a game changer compare to other brands to be able to assign an input for a LTC or take MTC from network to automate Scene go, Actions, presets recalling,… even more… automations.
  • Multi surface :

    • I/O section : View local I/O from other surfaces making enable patching
    • Enable use of the I/O port on all surfaces when on multi surface mode
  • D-Live director :

    • Time clock update from DLive director using computer time & date (“auto update on online sync” Check box ?)
  • Talkback Section :

    • Separate trim by talk groups
    • channel direct out in the Input possibilities
  • Mix Busses :

    • Follow pan to stereo mixes separately by inputs
    • Trim on the input signal of mix busses/groups/FX send busses/Matrixes
  • Scenes and shows :

    • move/copy/paste options
    • Surface offline mode
  • I/O cards

    • Enable Gain control and gain compensation of preamps thru Madi/Dante card
  • I/O section :

    • Clear patch option (by page and a full clear patch option)
  • Surface pref :

    • Strip assign section : Copy/paste/Move/Swap/Clear functions on banks
    • When assigning Gate threshold on custom rotary functions, it doesn’t show with the “source expender”
    • When viewing meters on the screen’s bottom, touching a meter would select this channel
  • MixRack Prefs :

    • Global set default option (eg. Set all Mixes to Mute/unmute, in Fader to 0/-inf, etc…) This is a very useful option on Digico.
    • Stereo pair of channel be direct without reconfiguring the desk and save/recalled in scenes
    • Possibility of splitting the gain, trim and delay on left/right of stereo a channel
  • Free Assignations of the 6 rotaries next on the right of the screens :

    • Fully customisable assignation of the rotaries (so you can set for eg : a chan’s FX send, an FX parameter, the led strip dimmer,… on the same page).
  • FX :

    • Stereo Tap Delay : problem when sending in stereo fx mix, when panning source send to the left, there is no feedback (delay 1 time to the left, no repetitions) and when panning right the feedback is mono (delay 1 time to the right and repetitions to the center)
  • Hardware :

    • A DX Module same as DX012 but with inputs (4 Analog inputs and 8 Analog/AES inputs). Or a DX024 (with 12 XLR in and 12 out with same analog/AES options

Hi @redwoody!

First off, I’d recommend searching the forum and upvoting any existing requests. That way the folks over at Allen&Heath can see what features are being requested the most.

Second, while a little tedious, it’s helpful to keep each post limited to a single feature. That way when people vote, it’s clear what they’re voting for.

While I wouldn’t need all these features, I voted for them all to be implemented anyway, as I can see the ones I am not interested in being handy for others as well as those I was interested in for myself.

Have suggested that. Also a ±1 to just inc/dec to the next/prev channel regardless of the fader banks would be great. Yamaha has that on the top right of the overview screen. Great for ganged channels, that aren’t on the surface.

Possible with actions?

Sometimes a life saver. Add seperate polarity to it! If for any reason a stereo source is flipped on one side, you are doomed.
