Hi all. I’ve just configured a couple of SQs (with SQ Dante cards and multiple DT168s); one for FOH and the other for Mons. The channel splits are done within Dante Controller so I was suprised to see that there’s not independent pre-amp control. This is not a deal breaker but is there any way around it, or is that just how it is? Many thanks. Adrian
There is only one preamp for each input. These preamps are physically located in the dante stage box. Therefore all devices HAVE to share a channel’s preamp gain settings. (It’s like sharing a car with someone. There is only one car and only one person can drive the car at a time).
That being said, each console will have its own “Digital Trim” gain control on each input. Users should learn to adjust their Digital Trim setting once the stage box’s preamps is set initially. Adjusting the trim setting will adjust the channel’s gain on that console without affecting the gain structure of the other consoles.

Thanks Brian. That all makes sense. In reality it’s not a huge problem and trim will pick up the slack anyway. Regards, Adrian
