Dante trouble with SQ5

SQ5 is used as a mixer, with Digiface dante and DVS on the input system and Symetrix DSP on the output system via Dante.
Dante is a redundant connection, and the Dante IP is DHCP.

Noise appears or sound stops coming out during sound source playback and is not restored. It is restored when the system power is turned back on. There are days when the symptom does not appear.

DanteClockLeader is checked on SQ5 Dante Card and SQ5 Clock is set to I/O port.
Would it be better to set the SQ5 Clock to internal and check Enable Sync to External on the SQDante card?

Would it help to set the IP to a fixed address?
I would like to know how to improve the symptoms.

While A&H recommends the later (setting SQ’s clock to internal and the Dante card to Enable Sync to External), I doubt that is your issue. It’s still easy enough to try, so I would absolutely make the change to test it, but I don’t think you are going to see a change in reliability based on that change alone. I think there is another “hidden” issue within the Dante network that is the actual cause of the problem.

Is the Dante network isolated from other network traffic, or does it share data with other non-Dante devices?

Thanks for the reply.

The Dante devices are consolidated in one HUB (GSM4230P).
Dante Primary, secondary, and Ethnet for each device configuration are separated by VLAN, and only one HUB is used.

Is there a problem if the hubs are not physically separated?

It shouldn’t be a problem using a single switch, but you really aren’t running “redundant” networks that way. You still have a single point of failure (the network switch) in your current setup. Honestly it is usually the switch that is going to fail too. (The wiring itself isn’t likely to fail).

Honestly if possible, I would rather run a non-redundant Dante network and directly connect all the devices together (meaning there is no additional switch in use). By switching to “switch mode” instead of “redundant mode” on your Dante devices, you might have enough available Dante ports to connect everything directly. This would be a far better solution that what you are doing now IMHO.

Try removing secondary from the network switch once.
Also, would it be better to fix the Dante IP of the device at that time?
Currently I am using DHCP except for control IP.
