DCA Mutes and Stereo Channels

It would be great if DCAs had an additional “Mute Only” page in routing, so channels could be assigned to them, but set to where the fader can be disabled for certain assigned channels.

Practical application: choir mics and choir monitor aux assigned to choir DCA. Choir monitor aux set to “Mute Only” so that the DCA fader does not adjust the level of the aux throughout the set, but the DCA mute key mutes both the choir channels and choir monitors.

Additionally, it would be great if stereo channel assignments stored in scenes instead of the showfile (a la SQ 1.6) made it’s way to dLive.

You can already set DCAs to 0 to accomplish that.

The stereo channel thing would be great, but I have a bad feeling about that one since it currently is an operation that takes time.

Yes, but in my example, that would set the fader to 0 for the whole DCA, making it impossible to use the fader for choir inputs as well. The idea is that if the choir is only used for a portion of a service/concert, the DCA that controls the choir could also mute their monitor wedge when the choir is muted to clean up stage volume.

If you mute a DCA the channels get muted too. Maybe you changed some settings?

Maybe I was unclear. Perhaps a better solution would be the ability to assign mute groups to DCAs.

Example:
Inputs 1-3 (and Mute Group 1) assigned to DCA 1
Inputs 4-6 assigned to Mute Group 1

The DCA fader would only control the fader level of inputs 1-3, and the DCA mute would then mute inputs 1-6.

I have done something like this in the past:

Inputs 1-3 assigned to DCA 1
inputs 4-6 also assigned to DCA 1, routed pre-fade to Aux 1, but not routed to mains.
Aux 1 routed to mains.

That way the DCA fader affects levels of 1-3, but not levels of 4-6. But muting the DCA mutes them all.

Seems like there were several options somewhere where you could choose whether channel and/or DCA mutes affected the prefade sends.
