Qu-5 running 1.1.1 r3772. I setup four DeEsser plugins in FX slots 1-4 from the FX page, and then set them on that screen to be inserts on 4 vocal channels.
When looking at the processing tab for these channels, it correctly shows an active insert to each FX unit, but shows the FX slot itself as “empty.”
What is the expected behavior here?
I’m not super familiar with the SQ system, but I don’t think it should be showing the FX Unit 1L rack as being “empty” in the channel insert screen. I don’t know what would cause that however. I would suggest going back to the FX rack and removing the DeEsser from Rack 1 (assign that rack to nothing) and then reloading the DeEsser in the Rack 1 slot.

My apologies - unfortunately this is a bug - we have it logged for a fix in a future firmware release.
In place of the “Empty” icon, there should be the De-Esser logo displayed.
The de-esser still works normally in this state - it is purely a display bug.

Interesting. Running the Qu7 with the latest firmware as of of September, 2025 and had no issues running, assigning and displaying the De-Esser.
It shows up in the FX Rack just fine. It’s the channel insert screen where the icon doesn’t show up. See the second image in the OP’s post.
Ah. I see that now. Since this effect takes up a rack space, I never looked at the insert section of the specific channel I assigned the DeEsser to. I did not think it would matter as this effect bring on an effects rack, can only be inserted on the channel I selected.
