I’d like to suggest adding an optional DJ-style EQ or performance filter mode to the CQ mixers.
Many of us are using the CQ not only as a mixing console, but also as part of a live performance setup with hardware instruments and grooveboxes. In this context, a DJ-style EQ (or performance filter) would be extremely useful.
Specifically:
-
A high-pass / low-pass style EQ that can be assigned per channel
-
Ideally optimized for live transitions
-
Useful for kick and bass isolation or smooth breakdowns
-
Would allow musical transitions without relying on external FX
-
Particularly valuable for electronic music, live techno, and hybrid live/DJ setups
At the moment, the CQ EQ is very clean and precise, which is great for mixing, but a performance-oriented EQ mode would greatly expand the mixer’s live potential. Being able to quickly roll off lows or mids in a musical way would make the CQ a much more powerful tool for artists performing live sets.
This would turn the CQ into not just a compact digital mixer, but a true performance mixer as well.
Thanks for considering it.
