I was checking out an Avantis desk at a trade show recently and liked the way the UI looked. wouldn’t it be possible to give the option of a “dark mode” on the dLive that would look a little like avantis?

I think a UI refresh is due for DLive in general. There are places where things can be simplified, clarified and improved for “scanability” - the current interface is a bit noisy and cluttered in places and has little UI details that feel very dated.
I do think the relatively limited contrast in the DLive hardware screens will limit how snazzy the UI can look.

Yeah, a dark mode would be nice, but it definitely needs to be optional, since plenty of users likely use the console in direct sunlight.
I also agree that a general UI facelift would be nice.
That would be great. Also a custom design options would be great.
You can use scenes to change the surface illumination settings, but I’d welcome a true dark mode toggle, both because that’d be better than making “light mode” dimmer and because it’s such a complete bleeping pain keeping up with scene filters on these utility-style scenes.

A ‘dark’ mode would indeed be welcome.
My S7000 is always set up in the middle of the audience, and those seated behind me and to the sides are still getting too much light, even at the lowest setting.
It’s a nuisance, particularly during theatre performances…
That said, the ‘backlight’ feature is very useful.
