dLive Director currently runs exclusively as an Intel binary under Rosetta 2 emulation on Apple Silicon. While it functions correctly, the Rosetta translation layer generates significantly more CPU heat than a native Apple Silicon app would.
On an M4 MacBook Pro, dLive Director alone accounts for ~70% of a single core and — more critically — causes kernel_task (macOS’s thermal throttling mechanism) to inflate to ~40%.
With a native Apple Silicon build, the same workload would run cooler and more efficiently.
Would it be possible to add a Universal Binary (Intel + Apple Silicon) build to the roadmap for dLive Director? Even a beta would be greatly appreciated by the community.
