I have seen a post about this back in 2019. But I wanted to start up this topic again. Can we please get the option for Pre Mute Aux sends (Similar to DiGiCo)??? I know there are some work arounds using Groups and DCA’s together, but thats not helpful when you have used most of the groups already. It would also be nice that I can mute any specific channels in the House, and the Talent can still hear in their IEM.
Is this a thing yet? I haven’t found any efficient workaround or solution.
Definitely not a “thing” yet. A&H has pretty consistently stuck with the idea that “muting” a source/channel mutes it everywhere.
You mentioned a few work arounds. I just wanted to mention one more - if you have the spare channel capacity you can duplicate your channels for IEM. I realize this is a “big if”, but if you can duplicate channels, you can set it up so the FOH engineer can mute the “FOH channel” and the “IEM channel” will still pass audio to the musicians. Optionally you can also use “gangs” to link some elements of the FOH and IEM channel together (like name, maybe EQ, etc) which can make managing these extra channels a little easier.
dLive has so many channels and we do as above but mostly for instruments. We duplicate many channels for our musicians and feed those into ME’s, old Avioms and some in ears. Another advantage is you can change the processing to suite the players/singers without impacting the house. And then we never mute those channels or add to mute group.
