Do inserts use up some of the 48 inputs?

Or are the inserts not included in that limit? Also, can we save insert setups in the Library?

what do you talk about?

there is no 48 input limit

the limit is with the processing strips
48 processing inputs that can be connected to

  • local inputs (depends on the desk)

  • SLink port (64 I/O, but depends on what is connected)

  • I/O expansion slot with 64 I/O audio network (DANTE, S-Link, WAVES Soundgrid)

  • USB interface 32 I/O

  • 8 FX return strips

mixes: 12 mono/stereo mixes, stereo main mix, 4 FX sends, 3 stereo matrix mixes

the limit is with the processing strips

Ah ok, thanks. So inserts dont use processing so they are limited only by the amount of IO I have?

why are you asking for inserts?
the important things on the SQ are the built in processing

    don’t get the point

He’s probably planning on using inserts across many channels for something like MultiRack or SuperRack.

With that said, you could have an insert point on all 48 channels.

Those insert points can be over any protocol (USB interface, option slot, physical I/O, etc) and do not change your amount of available processing channels (which is 48).

why are you asking for inserts?

I have lots of gear that can be inserted. Thats why I’m interested in inserts rollseyes
