Is anybody using magnetic channel labels on their QU mixers? If so, do they stay in place well? My new QU-24 will be delivered in a few days and I don’t know if the console is made of metal or aluminum.
Thanks.

Thanks.
It is metal.
I use MixTagz, and they stay in place after moving.
Thanks Rob.
You can buy magnetic strip in rolls in various colours. You then need to cut to length and mark up with a trusted Sharpie. Note that they come in several different heights so just get the right size to fit the mixer. Use alcohol to clean off the sharpie marks so the magnetic strip can be reused.
Can also be particularly useful if you need to change scenes during a gig as you can have several strips marked up in advance.
I made my own with the app for Mac called Pages.
If you have the “Pages” app for Mac computers, here is the template that you can have and modify to your liking.
download the Pages template here:
https://www.dankury.com/miscuploads/QU24_magnets_June_2015.zip
The template also has an empty page for you to fill in your info as you please.
Once you have modified the template, export it to a PDF and transfer it to a USB jump drive and take it to a local printing store and have them print it on magnetic material. I take it to FedEx (what used to be Kinkos) and they charge 14 bucks if I recall, but it takes a couple of days. I then use a paper trimmer made by Fiskas like this…
I end up wasting a blade but it cuts nice. Blades are cheap.
I’ve got some warehouse shelving magnetic labels.
They are designed to hold a card insert - which is good, just a piece of card to replace between gigs.
this is the one reason I want a GLD.
wood is in !!!
Wood background not available on GLD, just to mention it…
HA HA HA
Thanks for all the responses and ideas everybody!! I just ordered a blank set of Mixtagz.
Thanks for those templates dpdan. Will go that route when I get the time. It’s a slicker looking solution.
Much appreciated!!
glad to share
I purchased the MixTagz and they work great. I bought 2 sets of the blank tags, so I can mark them with exactly what I want. I’m also using them on the stage boxes of my two snakes and on my Presonus HP60 Headphone Amp. They work great for those too!
I will post some pics when I get a chance.
All looks great. Gosh Im sick of using tape!
Im over it~!
I went looking on line for blank looking templates even anything but couldnt find exactly wanted I wanted.
Any links appreciated … thanks
Yes A GLD with coloured strips and 2x AR2412 break out boxes [linked] is starting to look attractive! The wish list is building.

NZdave,
sorry about the link not working,

feel free to send me a personal message with your email address, then I can email you the zipped pages project.
I’ll try again later
Hi Australian / NZ users
If you’re wanting to make your own desk magnets I found that the Vistaprint small car magnet is slightly smaller than A4 so you can create a page of label cells in Excel on an A4 page with a bit of space around them and then export to pdf and load the pdf onto their site…best of all is that the cost comes in at around $20 Aus delivered!!
You’ll have to cut them out yourself, but it’s actually quite relaxing to do this part
I had to play around with scale at first - the photo below is V2 in which the size of each magnet is still a little too small but I have since created a new version which is perfect.
