DX168 disconnects from MixRack after 20 minutes

One of our DX168 has developed a problem, just wondering if anyone in the community has seen this behaviour before. It’s lived in a remote rack for 4 years, connected to the same I/O and never gets moved, so has a very easy life. On power up it connects to our CDM32 MixRack and passes audio normally. After approximately 20 minutes, we can hear the relays click and it disconnects, the link/err light flashes red. After that point it will attempt to reconnect and will pass audio for a few seconds before disconnecting again. We swapped another of our DX168s in as a substitute and that functions normally and as expected.
The faulty DX168 has been taken out of the rack, and connected directly to the MixRack with a different EtherCon cable. Same result.
We’ve been on firmware v2.11 for last 6 months or so, so nothing’s changed there. It’s usually the secondary expander on port DX3 (cascaded through a DX012) but the behaviour is the same when connected directly and on ports DX1 and DX5.
Has anyone come across anything similar? Any suggestions to try before opening a ticket with A&H?

Given your troubleshooting, I think it is clear there is a hardware issue with that particular DX168. I think contacting your local distributor and/or A&H to see about repairs is the prudent option.

Thanks Brian, that’s the conclusion we’ve been coming to.

It sounds overheaty.
