DX168 Drop-out | S-Link Led Blinking Red

Hello Professionals, we have a setup with an SQ-6 and two DX168’S.
Since a few weeks we are struggling with 1 of the DX168’s dropping out.
The problem is inconsistent. They can run flawless for hours and the other day he drops out after 10 minutes.

On dropping out we see the same behaviour as starting up, you see the light coming up and you hear the phantom power relays click, and once it started it drops out and startup again. This cycle loops for a minute and then the phantoms doesn’t pop on anymore. The LNK lights show orange an red blinking the hole cycle from the first drop out. See movie.

We have checked all the power and Ethernet connections, we are very sure by now that there is now cause. If the 1 DX168 drops out and we connect the second DX168 solo to the SQ-6 there is no issue.

Temperatures in are quit ok, if we feel the DX168 on a drop out you could not call ‘it hot’.

I hope you guys can help us out on making choices what to do?!

Best regards,
Huibert

Upload did not work, here are YouTube links to see some behaviour.

@HuibertBoth

The first thing to check is all the cables and connectors, ensure you are using Cat5e STP cable and also that everything is grounded correctly.
A good test is to set the DX up next to the mixer and connect both to the same power supply, then use a short network cable that you know definitely works.
With DX’s, you can also check that the switch is fully on ‘Cascade’ for this setup.

If you are still having issues, please contact your distributor https://www.allen-heath.com/where-to-buy/ who will be able to run through any other tests with you and figure out if this is something to do with hardware - in which case they will also be able to get this sorted for you.

Thanks,
Keith.

Hello Keith, am having a similar issue, 1 out of 2 DX168 not responding and giving a flashing orange (not red) error message. What does orange mean again (used to know but now forget-see vid)?

Also, can a QU32 be used as a stage box / Mon desk and send preamps to our FOH SQ6 via slink?
Txs!

I had the same problem, in my unit the psu was faulty.

Contact service to get the psu replaced.

Is the PSU easy to replace? Sending the box back to Canada from West Africa will be complicated.
