DynEQ bug

I did already open a ticket #886766
There is a bug where having dyneq inserted on a channel does not display RTA on surface but it does on iPad. (See picture attached)
Also the RTA shown follows “SEL” and does not stay locked on the input source of the selected dynEQ.

It would be nice to have the option to see RTA on the dyneq on both iPad and surface

@Frb94

This is a small bug, but I’m afraid you have it in reverse.
The DynEQ should not display the RTA, which is why there are no controls for it around the FX screen.
However the PEQ on the FX return channel can show the RTA and it’s this which is shown inadvertently on the DynEQ graph (because the graph has some reuse in the app).
As it’s something that people might be using and doesn’t really affect operation, it has not been deemed urgent to remove, but if you or others feel strongly about it, I could bump it up the priority list and we could ensure we get it removed in a future update.
If instead you are requesting that DynEQ and/or MultiBD have an RTA, that would be different and if so, would it be ok that it show the post-FX-PEQ signal on a pre-PEQ screen?
(as there is no RTA tap off point available pre-PEQ for this)

Thanks,
Keith.

Hi Keith.
I would like very much if you can leave this bug in place.
Even better if the second option is viable.

Having any kind of RTA overlay, even if on a slightly different tap point is very useful. Since we are talking about dynamic stuff, all i care is “difference in time”. If the rta is statically affected by some eq i wouldn’t mind it at all. After all, “postFXeq” is an integral part of an effect.

For example in this situation i was setting it as a de-esser and the ability to find the exact frequency was useful, even if effected slightly by a static post fx eq.

Thank you all for your great work!

+1

Hello, I voted for it, as it is very helpful to have it. Currently I use the mixpad in parallel to adjust the dyneq as it shows the rta. Showing the rta also on mixer surface would be cool.

To find the issue frequency, pre fx eq I think would be better.

Many thanks

Hi, i agree with the opinion stated here, having the option to view the RTA in the DynEQ/MBC Screen would be great! Woudnt even mind if its pre or post if i know what it is as it would be just a small but very useful addition to ie quicker judge for example a hissy or boomy peak you want to tame with the DynEQ or so

Hi @fuhn, many thanks you support this idea as well. Could you please vote as you also would like to have it? Just pressing VOTE button on top of this thread. Thanks

Hello @soundave, please vote via vote button on top, as seems just +1 in thread is not counted
Thanks.
