Is the an easier way to reboot the console besides shutting down/power off the console and turning it back on.
Not that I’m aware of, but it sure would be nice. We’ve had to reboot ours on more than one occasion to get the Dante network to sync up.
FYI - you can reboot the Dante card without having to reboot the entire console. I’m not sure if that would have fixed the issue you were having or not, but it’s good to know that it is an option.
That is good to know. I don’t recall seeing that option anywhere. I’ll check tomorrow to see if I can find it. It just may save a few minutes. Thanks for that info.
You can reboot the card from Dante Controller.
I’ve tried this, but it didn’t appear to do anything. I didn’t lose connectivity in DC and no visible indication on the Avantis. So I’m not entirely sure it actually did anything.
Not talking about Dante reboot but physical console reboot, ie RF discovery, Network changes, anything that requires a reboot of the physical console.
I apologize Jburke, we completely hi-jacked your topic. I’m still on board with them adding a soft reset button to the Utility → Status screen. Seems like a minor oversight for an embedded Linux machine.
Kind of like having a system with a horrible internal clock, but no NTP or sync options?
Maybe not there to prevent accidental reboot? People program that stuff onto soft keys and someone hits it by accident and…
You can’t put the shutdown on a softkey, so I don’t see why restart would be any different.
Confirm the restart and indicate that it is in progress vs shutdown just sitting there for 20 seconds before the screen moves.
Even a restart option instead of a shutdown on the main utility screen.
I think this is what we’re advocating for.
That said, the ability to put the shutdown on a softkey (With confirmation from the console) would be nice. I still have volunteers that are not shutting it down correctly.
that is always rough
