The application is for a small church with only one person (me) technically adept (40+yrs audio and acoustical engineering experience). This implies that I’m old and won’t always be available to operate the daw.
I chose this system because of its massive processing capability, programmability and ability to save, so it would operate ‘normally’ (2 or 3 inputs) without manual supervision. And, it does exactly that - except for FBA.
I’ve set everything up, including ‘ringing out the room’ with FBA. All the notch filters set and tuned during that process remain in place after restart. Upon power up (the pastor only knows how to turn on the system.), all of my work in all inputs and outputs and processing remain with their parameters and real time operation the same as last used and saved, except FBA. I’ve utilized, enabled and tuned every available processor on every input and output used.
As you’re aware, acoustical environments are not static - I rung out the room with FBA with an empty room. When we put 100 people in the small, very live/reflective room, everything changes. Also, the pastor walks around with 2 wireless mics (headset & handheld) for even more acoustical dynamics. This amount of variation requires ‘live’ FBA - Not on ‘hold’.
At this time, I have to start the system, connect the ipad and then manually set only those two parameters in FBA to have the FBA real time operational.
May I respectfully request A&H consider either; adding the option for FBA to start in ‘live’ with ‘hold’ off (‘recall on startup’ option added in FBA ‘detect’ window).
This would cause FBA to act exactly as every other processor in the board already does and allow successful unsupervised operation.
Thank you for your consideration and for an amazing product!
