Hi everyone — not sure if this is the right place for a product request, but I’d love to see a SUPER COMPACT digital mixer added to the lineup.
I’m a solo performer who also runs a duo and a band. I currently use an SQ Rack and a CQ18T, but I’m looking for something even smaller — ideally something that fits in a cable bag for light travel between theatres and hotels. My dream mini mixer would have:
-
8 combo inputs (enough for vocals, 2x stereo keys, IEM mix)
-
4 aux outs, stereo linkable
-
Onboard SD recording for multitrack capture (no laptop on stage)
-
USB audio for hotel room recording/interfacing
-
Wi-Fi control from the keyboard position
-
More compact screen for backup control
-
2 headphone outs assignable to aux mixes
-
Rear socket layout so it can sit neatly on a keyboard or desk
I wouldn’t need any of the current soft buttons or knobs, and the navigation buttons could maybe live on the screen too as they do on the iPad. I think one single knob should remain for fine control of virtual faders, rotaries etc.
My current stopgaps for travelling work are a Behringer Flow 8 (no onboard recording, not my favorite workflow) and a Tascam X8 (great recorder, and good for monitoring, not great as a mixer). A small, high-quality option in the CQ family would be perfect.
Anyone else think this would fill a gap?
Cheers,
Craig
