Hi all,
I’d like to request a firmware feature for the Qu series (and potentially SQ): the ability to assign multiple DEEP processing add-ons as inserts on a single channel.
Currently, each channel allows only one insert slot. While it’s possible to work around this by chaining processing across channel → group → main inserts, this approach consumes routing resources and limits flexibility — especially when you need several DEEP processors on a single source.
For example, a typical live/hybrid streaming use case might require:
- De-Esser (on the channel insert)
- DynEQ4 (on a group insert)
- MultiBD (on the main insert)
This works, but only because three separate bus levels happen to be available. If you need the same depth of processing on multiple independent sources simultaneously, the architecture quickly becomes a constraint.
Allowing two or more DEEP processors to be chained directly on a single channel insert — similar to how DAW insert slots work — would significantly expand the practical usability of the DEEP add-on ecosystem, and make the investment in multiple add-ons even more worthwhile.
I understand there may be DSP resource and latency considerations, but even a limit of two chained inserts per channel would be a meaningful improvement.
Thanks for considering this, and keep up the excellent work on the Qu platform.
Best regards
