I know that anyone will say thats not necessary, but sometimes it is useful ![]()
I donāt know exactly what you mean by āfeedback control feature,ā but any tool capable of precisely and with minimal side effects filtering out feedback frequencies during unpredictable or unavoidable critical situations would be a valuable in any mixing console.
Iām sure they are looking for the same Feedback Assistant system that is designed to help users control feedback.
That being said, the non-AI based Feedback detection systems that have been available historically are really pretty terrible. They can help sometimes, but often times they actually cause more problems/issues than they solve. You certainly do not want to leave the Feedback Detection system āactiveā during a show or it will cause unintended problems with the overall sound.
Until A&H can implement some sort of AI model (like Alpha Labās āDe-Feedbackā plugin), I would highly suggest that people look to using the De-Feedback plugin. It produces much better results and it can be used with the Avantis today (ie there is no waiting for A&H to implement a solution).
I still think it would be useful to have.
I also worked with good solutions like the dbx and the one integrated in QSC Touchmix. Even before the AI based approach existed.
So I will trust in A&H, like they did the great compstortion plugin with no external host.
The smaller series like CQ and they new QU have integrated the feature. Maybe it is possible to bring it to the Avantis.
