During these observation below my CQ is connected via the Network to my intel iMAC running OSX 15.2 Sequoia. (I see Sequoia is still under review at A&H)
Issue 1
Observations
CQ Reported on SD card Insert - Card Full, but showed no files to load.
This occurred on 2 of 3 SD cards I use (all are same brand and type purchased at same time and all formatted on the CQ).
the one card which did allow recording again showed empty ie no files to load but clearly still has recordings on it as the next step indicated.
After Multi Record onto a card - Recordings were OK and visible but a number of earlier recordings on the card not visible. The New recordings started at CQ-MT006 so it clearly recognised the earlier recordings 1-5 existed but it does not show them in the recording list as files to select.
On the computer The SD Card Cards show the following file structure
AHCQ
USBMTK
CQ-MT00x per recording containing multi channel .wav
The computer showed files 1-5 existed on the card.
This could be a Hardware or software issue but i believe its software / firmware related?
Could these file visibility issues have anything to do with the SD cards being possibly being formatted under an earlier Firmware version on the CQ or is this a fault with the card Reader itself?
The non visible Files show in the folders when the SD Card put in computer. (OSX Sequoia Intel iMac)
Issue two
My USB storage device also appeared to have lost all shows, or not making them visible to the CQ firmware.
The USB storage pen drive has the following Folder Layout showing on the my iMac. It was formatting on CQ. Which firmware version it was formatted under is unknown.
AHCQ
LIBRARY - Holds LIB000.DAT Files
SCENES - Blank
SHOWS - SHOW0000 - LIB00x.DAT files, NVDATA.DAT, SCENE00X.DAT,
USBPLAY - Audio Wav files in required format
USBREC - Files Recorded to the CQs USB drive through the CQ. Wav format
Why is the Scene Folder showing empty? It used have several scenes saved to the device.
The CQ HOME - SCENES screen shows 4 Scenes. But these are 4 newly created scenes not yet saved to a USB device.
These scenes still show on the CQ (without the usb drive inserted) so where are they being stored and how are they backuped up?
i assume the Scenes showing as existing on the CQ must be in an internal CQ memory location which does not appear to be able to be saved to my existing external storage which isn’t displaying the scenes it holds.
Should the Scenes folder hold the Scenes.dat files saved to external storage. I only see Scenes.xxx.dat files in the Shows folder under the subset show.
Why is the SHOWS folder holding Scenes.dat files? (It also holds Libxxx.dat files which do show in the their separate Library folder)
Is this possibly the same fault of files existing but invisible on the USB storage medium that I’m also seeing on the SD card. Both storage devices may have been formatted under an earlier firmware, and both seem to be experiencing data visibility and retrieval issues via the CQ mixpad software itself.
Presumably Mixpad software V1.2.1.84006 is what is displayed at bottom of CQ screen but this version number differs from the Firmware version number shown on the data screen of V1.2.1 r4213.
The A&H website only refers to 1.2.1 not the r4213 or 84006 suffixes. However it does state in support info that both the firmware and the mixpad software should be the same version. I haven’t seen any reference to potential issues of the external storage formatted under an older firmware version on the CQ not being readable with later firmwares.
Can someone explain
a) Is formatting storage under older firmware creating a problem?
b) What is the purpose of the Scenes folder?, I have never seen any files in that folder on my computer since Ive had the CQ20b.
c) Are these file visibility issues likely to be related to OSX Sequoia?
Cheers
David
