Are there any problems using two dLive MixRacks with mismatched firmware versions when using gigaAce as a digital split? What about a MixRack and an Avantis? I mean, obviously they don’t run the same firmware so in that sense they’re always “mismatched”, but does it matter if the dLive is on 2.11 and the Avantis is runnning one or two versions back?
I’ve searched the manuals but didn’t find it discussed at all.
I can’t think of a reason why it would make a difference. The digital connection via the GigaAce is simply a way to transfer audio between devices. Obviously you could connect two systems via an analog split and firmware versions, etc wouldn’t even be a consideration. The fact that it is a digital path instead of an analog path shouldn’t matter when it comes to firmware versions etc.
K, that’s kinda how I was thinking too. I just wanted to make sure before trying to update the dLive firmware right before rehearsal tonight (monitors are run from an Avantis with a digital split).
