First show with a Qu-5d coming up

And already I’ve fallen foul of the DCA trap

Despite that little blunder I’m finding the upgrade from a qu-16 phenomenal. Have got the desk setup at home with my Ar24/12 with all my inputs/outputs routed including a matrix for some satellite speakers. Got a little monitor hooked up to physically test the outputs too

The larger touch screen is great, much more user friendly than the smaller screen on my old desk. Liking the mixpad app too.

I’ve done my best to manually copy some EQ setting for inputs and outputs but I’m setting up an hour or 2 earlier than normal so I can get OSM running and ring out my monitors.

Spending my evenings just flitting through all the features so I can hopefully make rapid changes on the fly to routing/layers I/O etc if required.

Well, first show was a complete success and the board ran faultlessly for over 13 hours non stop. Having a 13" ipad on a stand next to the desk makes for an awesome workflow.

Delighted to hear your show went so well! Here’s to many more in your future.
And agreed, having a tablet or laptop hooked up is great for added faster workflows.
Enjoy!

New to Qu-5 Late to the party…

What is the DCA trap?

I setup 4 DCAs 1 for drums, 1 for instruments, 1 for vocals and 1 for effects. I forgot to raise the faders to 0db, did that live too when a band was tuning up and getting monitor levels then went live

Ahhh yes! I put DCAs on my my “main mix page” put every thing else in another “page” as a “submix”. So far so good:grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:
