I’m wondering if you can help me out…
What is going on:
Long story short, I have to bring the FOH console (Avantis), monitor Console (SQ-6) and the GX4816 from our main venue down into our smaller venue.
The Main Room is running Dante… the smaller venue is not (Simple Setup)
For this show, the Band wants a FOH console and a Mon Console…
The Question:
Is it possible to be able to plug the GX4816 to the SQ-6 (S-link) and then send the signal from the SQ-6 to the Avantis? Without using Dante. Or if I have to use the Dante cards can it be configured inside the console and not with the Dante Controller? I have not done my Dante training yet…
Trying to make this easy as this tour is being a pain in my A$%*%

You will still need an extra i/o card in the SQ6 to send to the Avantis but it doesn’t have to be a Dante card. You could put an extra S-link card into the SQ and configure it withing the console.

Sadly I don’t have an another Slink port on the SQ.
Only Dante. So from the sounds of it I will need to use the Dante system for this to work.
If I need to configure the system (sq Dante to Avantis Dante) will that mess with the already made routing for the main room? The main room routing is done via the DSP. The basement venue doesn’t have a DSP it just has a simple setup so I need to configure the Dante system useing the built-in cards.
If it is all Dante, the routing is done with the network, not the DSP.
The link between the two consoles should stay untouched by the DSP.
Only outputs to the DSP will not be available.

@steffenromeiss is correct, all the routing that has been done setting up beforehand, for your other room shouldn’t need to be touched.

What I did:
I saved a preset in Dante for the main room, then connected the Dante ports directly to each console without a network switch and DSP. I adjusted the Dante configuration so that the SQ controls the Gain while the Avantis handles Trim (Slink into the SQ. SQ sends gain to Avantis via Dante)
Once the show wrapped up, I simply recalled the Dante main room preset into Dante before reconnecting to the Main Room System.
I was trying to find a non-convoluted way for this small tour…
