after clicking format in the mixer I can use the usb device correctly from the CQ but i cannot read it anymore from windows.
Also trying to reformat it from windows doesn’t work anymore and gives an error
Cannot zero sectors on disk \?\PhysicalDrive1. Error code: 5@0101000F
It seems that the mixer set some kind of read protectionflag in the usb drive…
ok I managed using EASEUS partition wizard to recover the files and reformat the card
formatted using FAT32 and the mizer says : need formatting
after formatting the USB is unreadable again from windows…
is a 16gb drive
Isn’t this a windows issue with FAT32 support removed from Windows. You would need extra software to add FAT32 legacy support back to a current Windows OS.
I’m a Mac user so haven’t examined FAT32 legacy support in current Windows OS, but i suspect you can find out more via Google.

I hope for him and think it’s safe to assume he was able to solve his problem within a year.
I suspect it was something like a single defective USB stick or SD card.
Because a current version of Windows shouldn’t have any problems recognizing and handling such FAT32 drives.
At least, something like that works for me without any additional software.
But I could certainly imagine that you’d need some kind of adapter app on a Mac.?
Yup. I have no issues with Fat32 on my Win11 PCs.
Got to remember though that there is a disk size restriction for Fat32 of 32GB, so if you want to format a drive that is larger than that, then you either need to create a 32GB partition, or you might need additional software in that case. (Unless I have missed something within Windows itself.)
A&H always recommends formatting the storage device on the console itself, and at least the SQ supports the current FAT32 maximum of up to 2TB.
And I actually assumed it would be the same on the newer CQ.
But the topic starter used only a 16GB drive anyway.
