Fully parametric EQ per channel

My wish: A parametric EQ available per channel, could be 3 band (4 is even better but I understand the limitations). It would be nice to have width, frequency and gain control per band.

I used to bring a compact analog mixer to the gigs where I now bring the CQ18T to. Ofcourse the CQ18T is a massive upgrade compared to analog mixers, but the only thing I sometimes miss is per channel control over sound.

Your wish was implemented immediately. )

Wait since when is this a thing? I was fully convinced there was only a three band eq with fixed freqs/width on input channels in the CQ range.. Did I really not read the manual properly?

Since this wasn’t mentioned in the firmware releases, I assume it’s always been this way.
But I’m surprised you didn’t automatically discover it while using your CQ.

I have been looking for it in the mixer but couldn’t find it, but maybe I should use the CQ a bit more. As yourself I prefer to use my SQ.

Now I’m guessing you’ve put your entire console into a kind of beginner mode using “All Quick” (instead of “All Complete”), thus foregoing control of the channels, including the PEQ.

You need to set the channel as a Complete channel. Sounds like you initially defaulted all the channels to Quick channels which will only give you the basic fixed three band EQ. Convert it to a Complete channel and you will open up a whoooole bunch of other options including your standard 4-band fully parametric EQ.

BTW, personally I love the quick channels and I still use them for keys and a couple of other things. I also use them as a starting point for all the other instruments then when I’m as close as I can get to the sound I want I will convert it to Complete and finish tweaking that way.

I never really selected a mode on first use, was also a gig with somebody else who did some of the operating. But also tried to look for a different mode but couldn’t find, even though I expected this after reading about features and specs before buying. But thanks for your answers, going to check tonight if I can get it to work.

I don’t mean to sound all RTFM but the manual they put together is excellent and includes plenty of screenshots. I hate reading manuals but in this case it is definitely worth it.

I’d recommend checking out the sections about Quick vs Complete channels and how to switch between them. It’s ridiculously easy.

And the nice thing about the way it’s set up is that if you start with a Quick channel and dial it in pretty close to what you want, when you convert it to a Complete channel the settings you had already dialed in will copy over so the Complete channel will be configured exactly as you had set it up when it was a Quick channel. Then from there you have a lot more control over the settings.
