On my new SQ6 with latest firmware 1.6.1 r4874 - I was experimenting with using “insert” on ip1 having assigned send/return as FX unit. All worked as expected until I un-assigned the “insert”. Having un-assigned the insert FX1 could no longer be selected and the faders for FX1 send and return went missing, i.e. no indication in layers B & C
Looking at Setup\Mixer Config nothing was selected, no radio buttons were filled.
Selecting Standard & Mix Master restored the FX1 and all was good.
Anyone else seen this and was it something I cocked up?
Cheers, Chris
If you assign the FX into the insert, the send and return are obviously lost.
And if you unassign the insert again, it stays that way because SQ doesn’t know what you want to do with the FX next.
But you can go to the corresponding FX slot and restore the Mix->Return assignment in the back panel.
By the way, you should publish SQ topics in the SQ area.

Thanks for all the information.
+1.
We use most of our FX as inserts, except a couple of months ago where I removed an insert and used it as a ‘real’ FX with a send and return.
The send and return faders and assignments had (obviously) ‘disappeared’, so I had to edit one of the fader layers and ‘put them back’ where I wanted them, and modify the FX rear panel.

What you mean with +1?
That is what we would expect to happen.
+1 = I agree with what SQuser posted.
It is what I was also expecting to happen, but I was explaining this to the original poster just to make sure they were aware of it also.
If they were not aware of it, it should have saved them some time.
If they were aware of it, it is there for future people searching the posts just in case they were not aware of it.
