GLD "lazy" fader bank

The right (8 channel) bank on the GLD80 at our church seems to be “lazy” in it’s movement. The faders move visibly slower than the left bank, though it doesn’t always seem consistent. Up until now I haven’t noticed any other issue from it, but today during rehearsal it seemed like at least one fader took the value from a different layer when it switched sluggishly between layers. Pretty well killed my mains and took me a couple minutes to figure out what happened.
Any thoughts? This doesn’t seem to be the same issue as the jittery faders that others have posted about.

I assume that your problem is a normal dirt or wear. Maybe the right fader bank have been switched more than the left during work. I think it should be possible for someone with technical skill to clean the faders.
The problem with the SQ is that the lubricant on the pulleys of the timing belt gets resinous and slows down the movement. However, they are riveted there and therefore cannot be removed.
The GLD has a screw at this point (see red in the picture), so I think it is a good place for maintenance. I have never had to look inside a GLD myself, but I assume that it is not a big problem.
As it seems to be the same fader “AI8649” as in the QU, it should also be available as a spare part if required. It looks, however, as if it would have to be soldered directly onto the circuit board, which would then not be so easy and should definitely be left to a service technician.
