I have and Avantis and I’m sending audio to my 4 DX168 using Dx Hub.
Right now I’m controlling different things (lights, PA) via ethernet and I was wondering if I can use an adressable switch to use just one single cable from FOH to Stage.
Does A&H GX protocol supports this? Or does it need to have it’s own unique cable?
The netgear av has now support for gigaace. You need at least 2 switches with 10gb link.
Looking at the protocol documentation it seems every layer 2 switch with VLAN support should work. Am I wrong?
No. Every layer 2 switch with VLAN support will not work.
GigaAce needs a full gigabit connection. Therefore you must use a switch with “larger” connections than just 10/100/1000 (ie at least 2.5gb if not 10gb). You can’t put a GigaAce connection AND other data on the same network cable if that cable is connected to 10/100/1000 network ports.
