GX3216 getting Loud Static Noise into the Mixrack when not Powered on

Hey,

We run a CDM64 with S3000 Surface using a GX3216 as a stage box running Out of an GX Expansion card in the back of the Surface.

When the Stage box is not Powered the Channels are getting Loud Constant Static Noise through them, Is there an easy way to fix this?

Hi Scott,

Can you confirm the GX box is connected directly to the gigaACE card and also what cable type and length you’re using? Is the cable shielded?

I would tend to think this is a cable issue as well (ie not using the suggested shielded cable type). We have a GX4816 connected to our Avantis and it has never experienced that issue. Of course when it is turned off, the channels using the preamps on the box don’t show any preamp information (just as expected), but there is no “noise” coming through those channels.
