Headphones Assembly pushed in on Xone 43c

Hi,

So today I received an Ex-Display Xone 43C. upon testing, I plugged in my 3.5mm headphone Jack (without much force) and the whole headphone Assembly/board detached and pushed into the inside of the Mixer. (See Photo attached)

The shop has agreed to repair it, but how in the hell is it possible for this to happen with such a supposedly well-built mixer from Allen & Heath?

I’m not sure if the damage was done during transportation, or if it was simply a defective, or broken part?

Would love to hear your thoughts, and if anyone else has ever experienced this with any of their A&H gear?

You said it was an ex-display unit so who knows how it has been used.

The one picture shows you holding the nut to the 1/4 inch headphone jack
and what looks like the rest of the jack has fallen back into the mixer.

It looks like the nut that holds the 1/4 inch came loose letting the rest of the
jack fall back, my guess is the 1/8 inch/3.5 jack is on a small board
with the 1/4 inch jack so they both fell back into the mixer.

yeah, I was just a little shocked when it happened. I’ve owned two Xone mixers and never had such issues before.

oh well, as long as it can be fixed I’ll be happy. Everything else felt nice and solid. Just look forward to getting it back now and having a good session on it.

If the nut just came loose on the jack taking the mixer apart will take
much longer than the actual fix itself.
