headphones only one channel

when I plug in my headset sometimes I only get one channel - always right the way I wear the phones.
If I wiggle the jack enough I finally get two channels.

FWIW we run only mono out both LR outputs.

Is this intermittent behavior more likely to be the socket in the Qu
or might it be fixed with cleaning the jack or replacing it?

Something else?

I will have to try another set.
So far I take my personal ones from home to use at church when I do the audio for them.

I have a better set at home that I can use to try this week.
