Help Needed S7000 Road Case

AH-FC-DL-S3-GOMC__52629

I purchased the following Road Case from Sweetwater for my S7000 Surface. There was some miscommunication, I always wanted a Flip Case. But this is just a Road Case.
The Problem seems to be, there are no instructions on how to “Load / Unload the Surface in & out of the case”.

There are few issues with it and i wanted to check with someone who has a similar case, if i am doing the right thing.

a. There are 2 Parts to the Road Case. Part-A has the wheels on it and Part-B is where the Surface is supposed to go.
b. When I put the S7000 into Part-B. There is no method to secure it, So if i tilt it, the console will fall off.
c. So the only way for me to secure Part-B to Part-A.
d. Keep Part-B on the floor
e. Have 4 people lift Part-A ( It is heavy) and put it over Part-B
f. Secure Part-B to Part-A using the locks
g. Have 4 People to lift the entire unit back on to the wheels.

Personally, I think its a very bad design. But this is being sold by A&H as the Road-Case for S7000.
Am I doing something wrong?

Please let me know.

Regards

Vij

Sounds like a standard road case for a console to me. We have similar for our M***s monitor console.

Technically there should be 3 parts to the case, no?
a - The Base that the console sits on/in
b - The wheeled lid that covers over the console before tipping
c - The top that latches to base and lid, closing it all up

Desk sits in and stays in the thinner part of the case (a). Usually this would have the doghouse too.
To pack it away, you lift the thicker heavier part of the case that has the wheels on it (b) over on top of it and lock it down.
Then you lift it on to the wheels, and put the top (c) on it to seal it up for transport.

So in short, the way you have been doing it is the correct way for this style of case, and is standard.

Edit:
The image you uploaded was tiny, so I am presuming your case is similar to this one, which I have labelled with the sections I refer to…

Thank you for your quick response. Yes. Apologies, i forgot about Part-C.

You have 2 Wood pieces attached to Part-A. I don’t have them. Was this part of the original case or did you add them.

Thanks.

This isn’t my case, it was just an image I found to illustrate.
Most (if not all) wheeled roadcases (a few non-wheeled, too) that I have encountered over the years have the two wooden slats on the base to protect it from further damage when lying down on the ground or wherever. I think they are also known as slides so the case can slide easier on surfaces (again without causing damage) and not catch the handles or other slightly raised parts. Offers a more stable and flat surface for it to sit on when the desk is in operation. Also offers better strength and durability to the case.

Strange that your case didn’t come with those installed. I also see that that case is discontinued on quite a lot of sites that had previously been selling it.

It should prevent the surface from damage, not the case. Just to make it clear.

Maybe it was an extra feature.

Maybe a link could add some more information to the discussion?

My routine is:

  1. while the case is on wheels, take the top lid off.
  2. lift the case on whatever table or stand you’re using, then take off the lid with the weels.
  3. that’s it. To close, do the opposite.
Once the case is closed, the desk shouldn’t move, unless the case is not made for the S7000. However, you definitely don’t want to take off Part A before lifting it on the table or stand.

For Step 2:- You would need a Strong table. As the Case with the lid with wheels is pretty heavy.
But i agree, it’s the only way to use this Road-Case.
