At the moment, the dedicated EQ knobs have a much lower step resolution compared to the Touch-and-Turn encoder. This makes precise EQ adjustments very difficult — small cuts or subtle boosts are almost impossible without overshooting. In practice, I constantly have to switch to Touch-and-Turn for fine-tuning.
Why it matters:
During live mixing, fast but accurate EQ changes are essential. The current coarse steps break the workflow and reduce precision.
Suggested solutions:
-
A) Match Touch-and-Turn resolution:
Simply give the EQ encoders the same fine granularity. -
B) Adaptive resolution (preferred):
-
Slow rotation → high precision
-
Fast rotation → coarser steps
This would feel natural and greatly improve usability.
-
(Related but separate already existing request: the screen should automatically show the EQ parameters of whichever EQ knob is being turned.)
This enhancement would make EQing on the QU-5/6/7/D family far more accurate and efficient, especially in real-world live scenarios.
