How do I calibrate the file time in the recording function of the SQ6 mixer?

The recording files are always dated 2017.

The SQ series of mixers has no real-time clock on board, so there’s no way of it knowing what the time is.

If you record with SQ Mixpad connected, files will be timestamped based on the time on the connected device.

Do I need to update the firmware to achieve the function you mentioned?

The answer depends on which firmware you are currently using.

SQUser is correct.
But, yes - you’ll need to be running 1.6 or higher. Now we’re into the realms of maintenance releases, there’s no reason to to avoid updating right to 1.6.3, the latest firmware.
