Can’t seem to get this to work. If Channel 1 is set up with a name i want, processing i want, sends i want and a color i want, how do i copy all of that to a different channel? e.g. make an exact duplicate of everything.
anybody?
In the manual on page 29 and 30 it is described how to copy and paste the processing of a channel.
If you want to copy a complete channel including name and colour, you could store it to the libaries. See page 26-28.
Thanks for reply. That’s kind of a kludge that i’ve been forced to do and why i asked the orginal question.Seems really stupid you can’t copy/duplicate an entire channel.
real world example: because of the equally thoughtless use of XLR combos on only 8 of the 16 channels, i needed to move pre-configured channels 1-8 down to 9-16 to make use of the combo jacks. should be easy peasy with copy/paste, but nope, ya can’t do it. Doing it the “libary” way is much more cumbersome.
Indeed, there are a number of “thoughtless” quirks on this box. But it also has some great features and sounds fantastic, so there are tradeoffs. I have the “18” and being able to use this type of box without a computer is incredible and being able to record multitrack to an SD card is as well. The preamps and FX sound really good and it’s plenty functional.
If you haven’t run across it… One of the other quirks is that if you turn a fader that goes to the Mail L/R all the way down, you will lose all FX to the other outputs. You still get volume level and other things to the other outputs, but your FX will all disappear on those outputs. Took me a while, and a support ticket, to figure out why I wasn’t getting any FX to outs 1-6, turned out the reason was I had the fader to the Main L/R turned all the way down. Weird routing decision.
So just to confirm, this still can’t be done other than by saving the entire channel as a preset then recalling it from the channel you want to copy to?
I ran into this yesterday. We had a guest vocalist who needed their own channel so I picked an unused channel and tried to copy one of the other vocalist’s entire channel to quickly give the guest vocalist an identical channel to one that’s already used for that purpose and is fully configured - EQ, comp, etc. I could not find a way to do it and finally just saved the configured channel as a user preset and recalled it to the new channel. Was definitely a bit of a kludge. Especially on the fly with everyone (band and crowd) waiting on me to get it running.
