There are two ways to connect the ME system to the Avantis. You can connect the ME system directly to the Avantis using the console’s built in SLink port, or you can connect the ME system to an A&H digital stage box that also has an ME port built into it. This includes the GX4816 and some of the older AR/AB boxes (I don’t remember which ones off hand). It goes without saying, but if you use the Avantis’s built in SLink port to connect the ME system, you can’t also use it to connect a stage box or other device……

Given that you have a Dante stage box (DT168), hopefully your built in SLink port is not being used for anything else and you can simply connect the ME device(s) to that port.

There is an ME tab in the “I/O” Output page. There you will see 40 possible outputs at the top (the max allowed in the ME system). You will generally send “direct outs” from each channel and assign them to the 40 outputs, but you can also send mixes (busses), or FX sends, etc as well.

Now you mentioned having the ME500 device. The ME 500 device is limited to just 16 inputs and they will appear on the unit in the order that you assign the sources to the ME outputs. If you assign the lead guitar to ME output 1, it will show up on the ME500 in channel 1. If you assign the lead guitar to ME output 7, it will show up on the ME500 in channel 7, etc, etc, etc. If you assign the lead guitar to ME channel 17 or higher, it won’t show up on the ME500 device at all (but it would be available on an ME-1 device because they support up to 40 inputs).

There is no way to change the input order on a “per ME500 device” basis (sidenote - you can change the order the inputs are laid out on ME-1 devices - even on a per device basis). Every connected ME500 will show the first 16 inputs assigned in the ME tab in the order that they are assigned.
