As the tiltle says
How should I set up my Ethernet + WiFi ( dual location config on Macos 10.13.6 )
and setup network setting on the iDR
to be able to use iLive editor and surf on the web @ the same time ?
Thanks
Klaus

I think the easiest solution is to use something like the GL-iNet Travel Routers (personally I use the inexpensive “Opal” model without any issues). The (fairly) unique ability of the GL-iNet devices is that they can both broadcast your own personal/locked down WiFi network while also connecting to another existing WiFi network (usually for internet access). Most other devices can do one or the other, but not both at the same time.
To make it work, you would simply connect the iLive to one of the LAN ports on the router along with any other devices you want hardwired into the network. Set up you own personal WiFi network to connect mobile devices or other devices that will connect over WiFi. Then either connect the router to a hardwired network connection in the venue or connect to the venue’s WiFi network for internet access.
If the venue doesn’t have internet available, you can also easily connect a phone or other device for use as a mobile hotspot for internet, or connect a modem for a gateway to the internet.
Long story short, by using a travel router like the GL-iNet models, you can create your own network (that stays consistent every event regardless of the venue) while also being able to connect to the internet - either by the venue’s internet connection (hardwired or WiFi), or by creating your own connection using a mobile hotspot or modem.
The Opal retails for about $35, but can be often found for around $30 or less on Amazon. Thanks but not exactly what I was asking…
While it is true that I mis-interpreted your initial question, my response is actually a very good option for your situation. There is no need for your laptop to try to connect to two different networks if the network you create for the iLive has internet access too. With a device like a travel router, you can easily create a private network for your iLive that also has internet access.
the iLive network of the club has no internet…
here is what happens with the dual network location on the mac…
anyone ?
Thanks
