Imagine handing your CQ-20B over to a volunteer sound guy, and he decides it would be cleaner to mute the Clicks channel rather than simply leave its fader at minimum. Suddenly, all the musicians lose their click!
Why does muting a channel on L/R also mute it on the Aux outputs?
Pleaaaaase fix this.
It is not a ‘fault’. This is how the mixer works…
It sounds like your volunteer(s) require some specific training on how you have configured, and use, the mixer desk?
With a different mixer (we have an SQ7), you can have direct outs from each input strip, so we can feed a click track directly to the music group that bypasses all of the mutes on the desk.

Yeah, I love the CQ, but with volunteers mostly using our SQ majority of the time, they have to recall the nuanced differences of the CQ operation. Not always smooth. Muting a channel IMO mutes it everywhere on all outputs. Makes sense to me.
Because you’re muting the input, not the output.
Yes, it does make sense in principle. I need to do a better job of training my volunteers.
