When using another input channel as the sidechain source for gating, at what point in the signal chain does it tap that source signal? I could have sworn that I’d read somewhere that it’s post preamp, implying that it taps the signal before the filters, EQ, compression and inserts.
However, when I solo the side chain, it seems as though it’s getting tapped beyond even insert B.
Does anyone know where it’s stated in the firmware reference guide what this tap point is and if it’s configureable?
In my case, I have a set up input channels that I use for drum triggers. Recently I picked up Waves InTrigger and decided to use those same channels for the return samples. What I’m discovering is that I can hear the sample when soloing the sidechain of my drum mics.
