Hi! I’d like to get a few more characters to identify my inputs. I don’t want to writte a whole paragraph in there, but 6 characters is ridiculous, it’s less than the 45 years old MS-DOS 8 characters limit! Is it unreasonnable to want an input name like “Voc Steve” or “Lead Gtr” ?
Good suggestion. It goes for output names as well.
YES!!! I was very disappointed when using my new SQ (after a QU) that the naming was still so mean.
I strongly agree with this; 6 characters feels absurdly and needlessly restrictive.
Also being limited to alphanumeric characters only (no spaces, dashes, symbols or punctuation) is equally frustrating and is a legibility and accessibility nightmare.
There are so many use cases which call for more specificity in channel naming than is currently allowed.
Totally agree! More characters just makes sense +1
Yes, I totally agree!!!
This would help tremendously.
Just came across this when setting up scenes for the first time - even 2 extra characters would be handy. Also on mine via ipad I can’t get non alphanumeric characters to work, is that a feature limitation?
Probably related to the 8char filenames on the SD-Card, a 2-digit index and 6 characters.
So 1990 ![]()
