Installation with PL-10

Hi guys!

We have now ordered T-112, IDR-48, PL-10 and Dante-card to use in a permanent installation in our church. I think it will be just awesome for our needs! I promise to show you some pictures of the whole thing when it’s done later this summer!

The reason why using the PL-10 is that we would like to let not skilled people use that one when there aren’t a sound technician available. For example when there’s only speech involved.

The question is:

Do the mixrack need any special shutting off procedure?

We were thinking to put an simple on/off for the electrical supply to the IDR-48. So it would just be to turn on the electricity, the IDR-48 boots up and can be controlled by the PL-10. And when it’s time to switch it off, it’s just to cut the electricity again.

Will this work reliably?

Thanks!

Yes this will work.

But why not make a Scene 255 were everything is muted.

You’ll put this on a key on the PL10.

When they are finished press the off button.

when the next person want’s to use the system make a scene were all the channels unmute.

the IDR does not take much power and you make the system fool proof!

Thanks for your reply!

Awesome suggestion with a scene for muting everything!

We got the gear this weekend and so far we have can’t be more satisfied!

You should be able to also asign one of the buttons to a DCA.

I have at least 3 installs with IDR 48 where they never shut down. Incouding a few that have been running for over one year.

One of the churches we did has a system almost identical to yours and they use a scene recall function as described above.
