I updated dlive mixrack and director from v1.63 to v1.7.
After update, IP8 connect under category mixrack and not under surface.
I noticed when i start mixrack and director, director is in offline mode. Here the surface connects to IP8 and works properly. When i go online with director in time of connecting the IP8 disconnects. After that in category Surface-Controller-IP8 there is red icon “not connected” (picture2). When i remove IP8 from surface and add them to mixrack, IP8 is connected and works how it supposed to. I downgraded to 1.63 and everything worked. Then i again updated to 1.7 and it wasnt working again without doing anything.
PS:
Firmware Ver 1.63 on Mixrack have on ip8 ver 1.12 (All OK)
Firmware Ver 1.7 on Mixrack have on ip8 ver 1.23 (Surface not connected)
I want to ask if there is some other way of setting functions to channels on ip8.
There is already v 1.7 and from the start its pain to set.
Link to show what i mean https://streamable.com/rj4cn
With every change of function, the channel number resets and channel type too.
To set back the channel number with mouse or touch screen isnt user friendly.
If you need to set around 50 channels, it takes a lot of time.
It doesnt take that much time to fix it for programmers.
I really should have read this before…
I’ve updated today and run in exactly that problem… and yes only workaround is to connnect the IP8 directly to the MixRack
I am experiencing weird behaviours with my ip8/C1500 combo as well. Yesterday I assigned the DCA’s to one layer and assigned the button below the scribble strip to be a mix button for each DCA. this allowed me to spill the DCA assignments on the C1500 from the “mix” button on the ip8. Today the ip8 played up a little when first connected and I had to reprogram the ip8 to the assignments that I wanted. Now when I try to assign a button the “mix” and “select” parameters in the drop down menu are not there. They are literally not a venue option today. I updated to VER1.70 last week. Super weird.
the problems of integrating the IP8 in V1.70 Director have already been mentioned several times.
Apparently a solution has already been worked out, which should then come with the 1.71.
We all have the hope that it will work again as usual.
Yes, as mentioned before, “compatibility modules” for the iPad app is a must. It was bad with iLive, it is bad with dLive and SQ. I don’t see where the problem is in including older app cores as well and loading the right one on connect.
