Hello everyone,
I own a CQ18T and so far I'm happy with it.
However, I have a question that's been bothering me (I apologize if this has already been asked):
Can I connect an iPad directly to the USB-B port on the CQ18T, thus avoiding the Bluetooth connection?
Thank you for your help and best wishes to you all for 2026.
And the answer is: YESSSS
In multitrack mode you’ll get all individual in/out in app like stage traxx3, loopyPro etc..
One thing to consider is whether your iPad has the older Lightning or the newer USB-C connection. So your connection to the mixer will either be:
- iPad → Apple Lightning to USB-A adapter → USB A to B cable → Mixer, or
- iPad → USB-C to B cable → Mixer
From your description, it sounds like you are only looking to playback a single stereo track. In that case you should set your mixer to stream mode stereo and once you play your music on the iPad it will come into the mixer via the channel called USB.
Thank you for your feedback.
Indeed, it's about playing a single stereo track from an iPad using ForScore, for those who are familiar with it.
So, if I understand correctly, I'll only need a USB-C (iPad) to USB-B (CQ18T) adapter. There's no need to install an audio driver in any way (like on a PC/Mac in a DAW).
Thanks again.

Correct - an iPad is audio compatible with the CQ without any need for drivers or similar.
