Is Xone K3 outputting the right midi notes?

I’m having issues mapping Shift functions on the K3 when using Djay Pro. As part of the trouble shooting I ran a midi monitoring tool to check the midi coming out of the K3. This tool says the K3 its sending different midi notes that what seems to be intended.

For example when I click the first button under the first slider the K3 spec and the K3 utility says that’s a C2 midi note - however the midi utility is showing this as a C1.

Is this a problem - could this cause issues when mapping to software?

Thanks

Note octave number is different for different manufacturers and software (search ‘middle c midi hex‘ for more details).

So no, it almost certainly isn’t an issue, but can definitely be confusing!

You may just need to shift up or down, e.g. if E2 isn’t working, try E1 or E3

If you’re still having issues though, please contact us directly via support.allen-heath.com and one of the Xone team will be able to help.

Thanks,

Keith.
