K3 newbie - Help PLEASE

Hi all, I am new to A&H Controllers and I just got the K3 for my live setup (Using Traktor & Ableton with the K3 controlling Traktor). Got a few issues/questions right out of the box where the manual did not provide clear information:

  1. Is it normal, that the controller editor will NOT recognize the K3 if connected via XLINK to the Xone:96 (which is connected via USB to my MacBook Pro)?
  2. Is there no “official” K3 Traktor mapping still? => Do people even use the controller editor for this or does it all happen in Traktor?

3.Where do I get started abd please don’t say “Google is your friend”, I found shockingly little

  1. Yes it is normal for K3 to be not recognized as separate USB device. But computer should receive K3 MIDI messages via Xone96. The only nuance - I think You need to use any power supply via USB type C cable (phone charger for example) to power up the device which is connected via Xlink.

  2. Old K2 mapping should work because K3 is the same device.

    It’s is important to notice, You need to update firmware of your K3 with the Xone Controller Editor application.
