Learning Fx use on SQ5

Hi all,
I’m quite new to the mixing world. We have an SQ5, 2 weeks. I’m having troubles getting any of the Fx into a mix in the main speakers. We have all the instruments, vocals, sounding good; just can’t seem to get any Fx into it. Can someone guide me through please? Many thanks.

What fx, which fx?

What did you try to do to apply fx that failed?

This is what I’ve done thus far, using Fx1 - SMR and Fx3 - Stereo…
Press Fx2 or Fx3 key;
Adjust faders on Layer A to those Fx buses;
Go back to LR;
Adjust Master Fader;
Go to Layer C and adjust FxRtn’s;
Adjust Master fader.
