Linked stereo input gain not following in unison?

I had an following issue: I had input channels 3 & 4 previously assigned for certain instruments with specific gain setups and I happened to choose to reuse these channels 3 and 4 as linked stereo pair. I hadn’t done anything else but set gains to those channels, so I simply remapped these mono channels as stereo to be used as laptop source. After throwing some audio signal from laptop I noticed that L/R levels didn’t match. Initially I was suspecting something from audio source being mismatched (maybe pad pushed in for one channel in DI or audio being pre-panned within laptop). It took me a while to recognize that this was due to linked stereo channels having different gain-levels. I think (but not 100% sure) that I tried changing the gain-level of linked stereo channel, and if I did then must say that the gain levels didn’t rematch to unison.

This behaviour may be a feature, but it doesn’t feel natural to my instinct, as there apparently is no way (?) to either see or configure the level of linked stereo L/R channels when you are processing stereo channel. I had to switch channels back to mono in order to see the problem and match the gains again.

Does this pattern exist on purpose, or is it a bug? If it’s a feature then which channel specific settings are following the original mono settings? EQ? Compressor? Something else / everything?

I know on other A&H consoles you can click on the input number on the routing page and it will pull up the preamp information (including the gain setting) and allow you to change it. This will give you access to the “raw” preamp gain settings which you can adjust individually for each preamp/input (even if the channel has been assigned as a stereo channel).

I honestly have not used the QU system myself to know if this technique works or not on these models.
